Kerala State Mediation and Conciliation Centre is an initiative of the High Court of Kerala. It has been conceived as a project for giving effect to Section 89 of the Code of Civil Procedure which provides for Mediation as an Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism.
The project is implemented with the support and guidance of the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) of the Supreme Court of India.
District Mediation Centres were established at all the District Head quarters and at North Parur and Mavelikkara. Sub centres are functioning at many places. High Court Mediation Centre is located in the second floor of the High Court building.
There are 491 mediators in Kerala. They were trained by the MCPC. Mediators are given accreditation as and when they fulfil the norms prescribed by MCPC.
